Local 75

Plumbing apprentices are trained through a five year apprenticeship program consisting of not less than 8,000 hours in the plumbing industry. Apprentices complete the hour requirement with more 90% on-the-job training, along with the rest of the time learning in a classroom. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship requirements, the apprentice will take a licensure exam through the State of WI, Department of Safety & Professional Services and, upon passing, will become a Licensed Journeyman Plumber. Apprentices work for an employer, are sponsored by the committee and are under contract with the sponsor and the State of WI, Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards, Department of Workforce Development.

Plumbers & Steamfitters
UA Local 400

Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 400 is comprised of approximately 2,300 members serving eighteen counties in Northeast Wisconsin. We are a local union that is affiliated with the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters, comprised of approximately 355,000 members across the US and Canada. Our main purpose is to provide training for our members and qualified manpower to our 105 signatory contractors for all aspects of the plumbing, pipe fitting, HVACR service, and pipe fabrication industries.

Steamfitters
Local 601

All Steamfitters/Refrigeration apprenticeship applicants are required to attend a trade orientation before they may submit an application to the apprenticeship program. Trade orientations are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 4:00 PM. Upon submitting a complete application each applicant is directed for general knowledge, aptitude testing, mechanical and spatial testing at the appropriate technical college.
